November 2019

Room to Bloom was full of gratitude and Thanksgiving during the month of November.

Our Monday through Thursday enrichment has been going strong. November saw Sunflower Week, Football Week, Harvest Week & Thanksgiving Week. Please leave us feedback if you have suggestions of something that your child particularly loved or had difficulty with so we can continue to refine our offerings. Consider an unlimited membership to really maximize your opportunities to participate in our enrichment activities. On a cold late fall/early winter day, it's nice to be able to drop in for a quick visit and see what we have out that's new!

We have been focusing our enrichment on core competency skills such as:

Fine Motor skills: (attaching football feathers to a turkey, creating fall harvest corn by gluing on cheerios, using "pinchers" in the sensory table)

Gross Motor skills: (shooting the paper football between the lego goalposts)

Cognitive skills: (playing sports memory & sports matching games)

Writing/Coloring: (creating your own gratitude turkey)

Colors: (fall harvest color matching game)

Numbers: (sunflower number sticks - match the number of seeds, use play-doh to make numbers 1-5 on sunflower placemats)

Art: (sunflower print using forks, paper towel roll flower stamping, football bubble wrap painting, tractor prints using paint, sponge paint a turkey)

Sensory: (popcorn kernels & little people farm, build a turkey out of kinetic sand & feathers)

Reading: Please take advantage of our little free library in our baby room - read it, love it, return it (or don't!). Every time you come to Room to Bloom you're welcome to select a book to bring home with you!

Our murals are now complete! Behind the big play structure is a menagerie of animals - monkey, giraffe, bear, hippo, turtle, elephant, and lion. Our second mural on the column features an underwater scene. It brightens up the whole space with vibrant color and playful emotion. I am so very thankful to the artist, who is a personal friend of mine, for completing these murals. They are more than my imagination was capable of and they are so special to me and my children. I will always be so grateful to him for this labor of love and his desire to create something special for your children to enjoy every time they visit.

We hosted another special event this month, this time celebrating the release of Disney's Frozen 2 with Special Guest Elsa (@PartiesByCarole). Elsa sang songs, rolled out the red carpet, and threw a few gentle snowballs. Families enjoyed the music from Frozen while their children sang and danced. It was a wonderful morning full of happy, smiling faces and sparkly dresses. The kids each got to leave with a "melted Olaf" snack to enjoy at home. I'm grateful we have found such a wonderful princess to create magical moments for your children.

November launched the initial meeting of The Busy Mom's Book Club. Join the facebook group "R2B Beverly, MA Busy Mom's Book Club" to stay up-to-date on what we're reading. Meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month - fill your Yeti with the beverage of your choice and come hang out with some other Moms for the evening.

  • Dec 18th - "Christmas Jars" by Jason F. Wright

  • Jan 15th - "Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine" by Gail Honeyman

  • Feb 19th - "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng

We added two new meet-ups for Dad's and male caregivers this month. Any male caregiver can come on Tuesdays or Sundays morning and benefit from our playgroup discount pricing of $10/child, $5/sibling & crawler. Let Mama have a little time to herself on Sunday mornings and come play at Room to Bloom to get those kiddos tired for nap time!

Fridays in November continued to be busy with Enza's New Mom's group. If you or anyone you know has a new little one, please feel free to invite them to check out our mom's group. And many people don't realize that we never charge for non-mobile infants. New moms can come check out our space, enjoy a beverage from the cafe and socialize with other parents anytime they want for no charge while their baby isn't crawling. On these cold and dark days, getting out of the house (and not spending money at Target!) is a blessing!

We saw more special promotions on social media in November - Veteran's Day had FREE admission for all veterans and their families and 25% off for everyone else. Love you Dad and all the other military veterans who keep our country safe for us (I'm a proud daughter of a 20+ year US Navy Captain!). And how can we forget the amazing punchpass deals on Black Friday. Thank you to everyone who purchased one on behalf of their own children or to give as a gift for the holiday season. We can't wait for you to come play! Follow us on Instagram and Facebook @RoomToBloomBeverly to make sure you always stay in the loop on any future impromptu offers!

Most of all, I am grateful this November for our customers. Room to Bloom is my happy place and I love being there to shape it into a clean, safe, and engaging playspace for you and your children to spend time in.
